Myspace on the market
Mashable has just reported that NewsCorp appear keen to sell My Space as it has never really recovered from its decline despite a costly overhaul as a media and entertainment site…The comments on the blog make the most interesting read as does the open letter to Mr Murdoch here...http://buymyspace.org

SeeClickFix
I read an interesting story in Fast Company about a scheme called “SeeClickFlix” which is thriving in thousands of communities. You spot an issue such as a pothole or graffiti in your community. You take a picture of it and then to go to the “SeeClickFlix” website and geotag where it is and write a note and upload the image. The ticket is then sent to the relevant group whether that be the local council, utility company or neighbourhood watch group. Sounds like a great idea to sort out those London craters which are a nightmare for those of us that cycle. |

Twitter TV out now
This may initially be a hard concept to get your head around but I also read in Fast Company about the success of Twitter TV in the US so watch this space. Apparently it has got brands such as Starbucks, Coca Cola, Best Buy and Nike starting to advertise but it took a while to build an ad platform for them.
I‘m finding it hard to imagine what the user experience would be like and would be happy to read your comments on whether you would watch it. If you imagine it as a commentary on what is coming through on Twitter, which is often where hot news goes first, you will have an idea of it. #Egypt is one place (now that the internet has been restored there) where Twitter is likely to give a feel for what is really happening on the ground. |

Want to buy a fan?
Well, apparently now you can. In browsing the TwitterTV black screen I came across a web site called buyrealfans.net and now you can buy a fan. Apparently they cost anything from .02c to 2c for non targeted ones and between 1.3c and 3c for the targeted ones and you guessed it, the price all depends on volume. Not sure about the quality though but now you have another solution if you are struggling to get fans. I‘m not advocating buying fans as the most important thing for long time success in Social is engagement. However it‘s an interesting concept and perhaps not that much different to buying email names from a database company. |
